About Shiny Drop · Hyderabad
Oil Is an Ingredient. We Treat It Like One.
Shiny Drop is an edible-oil brand from Hyderabad. Right now, that means two oils — black mustard and groundnut — and close attention to everything between the seed and the bottle.
02 — The Idea
The Oil You Use Most Deserves the Most Attention.
Cooking oil goes into almost everything — the tadka, the fry, the achaar, the paratha. It’s also the ingredient most people stop thinking about once the bottle is in the kitchen.
Shiny Drop works from a simple position: if an oil is used every day, how it’s made should matter. So we pay attention in three places.
-
i.
The Ingredient
What goes into the press decides what can come out of it.
-
ii.
The Process
How the oil is extracted, and how it’s handled on the way to the bottle.
-
iii.
The Finished Oil
What’s actually in the bottle once it’s been filtered and sealed.
03 — From Seed to Oil
Two Oils. Two Routes.
Our two oils don’t share an identical process — and we’d rather show you the difference than blur it.
Black Mustard Oil
Four stages
- Black Mustard Seeds The raw ingredient
- Kachi Ghani Traditional extraction
- Cold Pressed No added heat
- Double Filtered Filtered twice, then bottled
Groundnut Oil
Three stages
- Groundnuts The raw ingredient
- No Kachi Ghani step Not part of this oil’s process
- Cold Pressed No added heat

Kachi Ghani applies to our Black Mustard Oil only.
04 — The Ingredients
It Starts With What Goes Into the Press.
Ingredient 01
Black Mustard Seeds
Small, dark and sharp in character — the seed behind mustard oil’s strong, distinctive flavour.
Becomes → Black Mustard Oil · Kachi Ghani
Ingredient 02
Groundnuts
The everyday groundnut, pressed for an oil that’s milder in character.
Becomes → Groundnut Oil
05 — What the Process Means
Three Terms, Explained Plainly.
You’ll see these words on our labels. Here’s what each one actually means.
- Kachi Ghani Black Mustard Oil only kachchi — raw
-
A traditional way of extracting oil, in which raw seeds are crushed in a ghani — a type of oil press — to release their oil. The name refers to oil drawn from raw, uncooked seed.
- Cold Pressed Both oils
-
The oil is extracted by mechanically pressing the seed, without adding heat to the process.
- Double Filtered Both oils
-
Freshly pressed oil carries fine solids from the seed. Filtering removes them. Double filtered means the oil goes through filtration twice before it’s bottled.
Definitions, not promises.
